Environment Art Project -Bar Level

This was a tough class simply because of technical issues I faced. The theme is an evening club. In game there would be a small meeting between the protaganist and the lieutenant of a criminal organization so I wanted it to be sort of small, but large enough to have a small group could have a fight. I started by gathering references to see the different kinds of clubs and decided the bar look was more suitable for what I wanted.

Week 1, was creating the BSP-s and Structural asset for the scene that we would create for week 2. Creating BSP's was something I feel that helped me more once I understood the concept more. When I realized that it was just to aid in the modeling process and helping you understand just how large your structural and break away assets need to be in order for the scene to work I wanted to do more. Week 3, we created materials in Substance Designer which is SO different from Substance Painter. I currently have the concept down, but I would love to take my time to really go in and explore how crazy I can get with the materials. My favorite material I made this month was the door. It really came out with the old and worn down look that I wanted. It looks like it's been through some things and that's what I wanted for my scene. Week 4 was lighting and I sort of knew some things from previous classes and using lighting before in various projects. Using the post process and various other steps that help make the color, materials, and light pop was new and the most interesting. This isn't a lighting class, but I wish I could have played around more to experience the different ways those could've effected my lights and scene overall.
